Biography

On 6 September 1937 Robert LeRoy Darlington was born in Everett, Snohomish County Washington.^[1][2] Bob was the child of Robert Melvin Darlington and Edna Gaynell Calapp.^[3]

At the age of 2, Bob lived with his parents, siblings, grandfather and uncle on the family farm in Cathcart, Snohomish County, across the Snohomish River from Snohomish.^[3] He was raised in Cathcart and Bothell and attended Washington State University where he earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1961.^[4]

He founded the Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital and the Northwest Dairy Consulting Service. He was honored by the American Association of Bovine Practitioners in 1987. He also owned and managed a large dairy farm.^[2]

Bob died on 13 March 2016 at the family home in Snohomish.^[2]
