Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. My family tree is on another website.
On the Robert Campbell website, I find the siblings match my John M Campbell but the tree has him as John W Campbell. My ancestor was born in Missouri in 1838 and dies in 1907 in Kansas. The marriage to Sarah Glasgow matches. My John M Campbell's father is Robert B Campbell from Jessamine Co. Kentucky. Robert marries Mary Georgette Marcel in that county in 1825. I have records that the first 4 children were born in Kentucky and the next four in Missouri. Do you think this is a match? I have my father's DNA and am having trouble loading it. The Campbells are on his side.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi R and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree. Let me know if you're still having trouble uploading your DNA.

Perhaps your "W" and "M' differences in your ancestor John M. Campbell sources could be a transcription error? Have you been able to view the record? Maybe posting a question on our very active ask questions G2G might help?

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Happy tree climbing

Hi R!

Welcome to WikiTree! Be sure to take a look at the link in the email you just got. It has important information to help you get started. :-)

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

Confirm your email address, and you’ll be given an opportunity to fill in the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. If you are interested in sharing your research and want to collaborate to add your family, please fill out the Tags on your profile page and click Save Tag(s) and Volunteer.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

Thanks, Cindy
