Biography

Antonino Damiano is born around 1871 in Corleone, the son of Felice Damiano and Giuseppa Aprile, who married in 1861. Felice is the son of unknown parents, and Antonino is named after Giuseppa's father.

Antonino, a peasant, is 22 (b. 1872) when he marries Margherita Governali, age 19 (b. 1875), casalinga (housekeeper), daughter of Angelo Governali and Vincenza Ferro, on 3 February 1894 (civil)[1] and 4 February 1894 (church).[2]

On the SS Liguria, sailing from Palermo on 29 September 1904 and arriving in the port of New Orleans on 17 October, the Damiani family travels with a group from Corleone:

16. Antonino Damiani, 33 (b. 1871), married, bound for Lake Enc?, connected to lines 17-20 with a bracket, joining BIL Giuseppe Blanda

17. Margherita Governali, 30 (b. 1874), married

18. Gisueppa Damiani, 8 (b. 1896)

19. Felice Damiani, 6 (b. 1898)

20. Vincenzo Damiani, 2 (b. 1902)[3]

In 1908, Margherita's brother, Giuseppe, immigrates to Ramos, Louisiana. He names his brother-in-law Antonino as the destination contact.[4]
