Eva May Dalton was born 1867 in Missouri to James Lewis and Adeline (Younger) Dalton. She was the sister of three members of the Dalton Gang.
She married John N. Whipple on October 25, 1887 in Meade, Kansas. They built a small house in Meade. It was reported that there was a tunnel leading from the house to the barn which the Dalton Boys used as a hideout.
John and Eva had two children: Maude and Glenn.
