Mary Elizabeth Dale was born about 1912 probably in Yorkshire, England, daughter of Thomas Dale, Groundsman.[1]
On 1st Feb 1930, Percy Clafton, aged 21 and a bachelor, married Mary Elizabeth Dale, aged 18 and a spinster, at Sandal Magna, St Helen, Yorkshire. At that time he was living at 17 Pincheon Street and she was living at 31 Clifford Avenue, Sandal. He was a Motor Mechanic and his father was George Clafton, Miner. She didn’t declare an occupation and her father was Thomas Dale, Groundsman. They both signed their names and their witnesses were Sarah Emma Clafton and Robert William Dale.[1]
In 1958, George H. Girling, aged about 51, married Mary E. Clafton, aged about 46, and the marriage was registered in Q3/1958 at Don Valley, Yorkshire.[2]
Mary Elizabeth Girling, died 16th Dec 1980, aged 69, (born 21st Apr 1911, registered in Q4/1980 at Doncaster, South Yorkshire,[3]) and was buried at Saint Oswald's Churchyard, Kirk Sandall, Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, in the grave of her first husband Percy Clafton.[4]
