George was born in 1811. He was the son of John Cutt and Mary Moondy. He was christened on 4 March 1811 at Felkirk, Yorkshire. ^[1]

George married Hannah Hough in 1831 at St Marys Church, Barnsley, Yorkshire.^[2]

He passed away in 1845, age 34. ^[3]

After his death, George's son, brother, two nephews and brother in law were killed in the Lundhill Colliery Explosion on 9 February 1857.
