Salvatore Cutrera is born and baptized 15 July 1874 in Corleone, the son of Gioachino Cutrera and Giuseppa lo Bello. His godparents are Francesco and Marianna Salpetra, brother and sister, both unmarried.[1] Both of his parents were born in Corleone of officially unknown parents.
Salvatore marries Calogera Lanza, daughter of Bernardo Lanza and Biagia Saltaformaggio, on 8 October 1899 in Corleone.[2]
They have at least two children: Giacomo (c. 1901), Bernard (c. 1905), Joseph (c. 1907), Brigitta (c. 1909), Mary (c. 1911), Rosie (c. 1914), Angelina (1915), Biagio (c. 1917), and Constanzia (1924).
At least 53 passengers from Corleone sail on the SS Citta’ di Napoli, and arrive 20 October 1902 in Ellis Island. All are going on to the port of New Orleans. Among them are Salvatore and his brother-in-law, Giovanni Ficarrotta:

In the 1920 federal census of Chicago, IL, Salvatore Cutrera, 45 (b. 1874), heads a household at 1016 Cambridge Ave with his wife, Calogera, 35 (b. 1884), and children Giacomo, 18 (b. 1901), Bernard, 14 (b. 1905), Joseph, 12 (b. 1907), Brigida, 10 (b. 1909), Mary, 8 (b. 1911), Rosie, 5 (b. 1914), Angelina, 4 yrs 4 mos. (b. Oct 1915), and Biagio, 2 yrs 1 mo. (b. Dec 1917) Salvatore, Calogera, and Giacomo were born in Italy, the children Bernard through Angelina were born in Louisiana, and the youngest, Biagio, was born in Illinois. Salvatore emigrated from Italy in 1905, and Calogera and Giacomo in 1906. Salvatore is a laborer on the railroad. Giacomo and Bernard are fillers in a feather factory.[4]
Costanzia is born 23 March 1924 in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of Salvatore Cutrera, 50 (b. 1874) and Calogera Lanza, 42 (b. 1882), both born in Italy.[5]
Angelina dies in 1931 at age 15-6. She is buried with her parents in Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Cook County, IL.[6]
Calogera Cutrera, born in 1882, dies in 1938 at age 55-6. She is buried in Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Cook County, IL, with her husband, Salvatore, and their daughter, Angelina.[7]
Salvatore dies in 1959 at age 84-5.[8]
