William George Cusins was born on 14th October 1833 in London or Marylebone Middlesex and baptised on the 27th October 1833 in Saint Peter's Church, Pimlico. He was the son of Teeling Cusins and Eliza Ann Anderson.

William became a member of the The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain on the 4 March 1855 as confirmed in the Society's book, “Members of The Royal Society of Musicians 1738-1984” on Page 44
