Kate (Curtis) Latham was born in Queensland, Australia

Catherine Emily Curtis was born on 19 August 1914 in Queensland, Australia, daughter of James Curtis (1872–1924) and Anna Mary Hansen Pedersen (1873–1942).^[1]

She married Wilfred Clarence Latham on 30 Decemeber 1936 in Pialba, Queensland ^[2]

On December 30, a very pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Pialba, when Wilfred Latham, son of Mr. W. Latham. Cooroy, was married to Katherine Curtis, youngest daughter of Mrs. J. Curtis and the late Mr. J. Curtis, Pialba. The Rev. Hughes officiated and Miss Tooth presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother (Mr. Sam Curtis) who gave her away. The congregation sang 'The voice that breathed o'er Eden.' The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, and the decorations included a wedding bell and white and pink streamers. The bride's dress was of white hail storm satin and lace; the bodice featured a cowl front, long sleeves with lace let in and a long train. The beautiful veil, which was kindly lent by Mrs. Arthur Andersen, of Pialba, was made of tulle embroidered and mounted on a wreath of orange blossoms.

The bride was attended by Miss Annie Pedersen (niece of the bride) as bridesmaid, who was gowned in a dress of pink kabe crepe, ankle length, and finished with a posy and long sash. A pretty pink hat also was worn.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Harry Latham, as best man. The happy couple left the church amidst a shower of con fetti.

The bouquets were made and presented by Mrs. Fred Curtis, Pialba, the bride's being of white flowers and the bridesmaid's of pink flowers.

The reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother. Mrs. Curtis who received the guests, wore a frock of navy blue hail storm satin and hat to tone; she carried a posy of red roses.

A feature of the bride's table was a beautiful three-tier cake made and iced by Erbachers, Maryborough. After the reception the happy couple motored to Maryborough to have their photograph taken, and later left for Warwick by car where they will in future reside. The bride's travelling dress was of navy blue, with hat to tone. All the frocks were the work of Miss Annie Andersen, Pialba.

Kate died on 20 July 2010 in Bundaberg, Queensland, aged 95.^[4]
