Father John Cupper Mother Audrey Peyto

Daughter of John Cupper, Esq of Glympton, Oxfordshire and Audrey, daughter of John Peyto.

She married John Fowke, Esq of Gunston, Staffordshire. They had nine children.

Dorothy died in 1651. Her will was dated 5 December 1643 and proved 27 June 1651.[1] In it, among other provisions, she:[2][3]

  • described her self as of Gunston, Staffordshire
  • requested burial at Brewood, Staffordshire as near her husband as was convenient
  • requested payment of anything due to children of Richard Creswell, lately of Barnhurst, Esq.
  • made bequests to
    • her daughter Cassandra Fowke
    • her sons Anthony, Roger, Gerard and Walter
    • her grandchild Dorothy Fowke, daughter of her son Gerard
    • the five sons of her son Francis that "are now with me": Barry, Walter, Carroll, Roger and Digby Fowke
    • her granddaughters Dorothy, Mary, Elizabeth and Martha Fowke, daughters of her deceased son Francis
  • appointed her daughter Cassandra and her grand-daughter Dorothy Fowke, daughter of her son Francis, as executors and named her son Roger and her grandson Richard Creswell as overseers of the will

Administration was in the event granted to Mary Fowke, granddaughter of Dorothy.
