Charles was born about 1913. He was the son of Frederick Croxen and Pauline Augustus.

While trout fishing, there was a boat upset and Charles drowned in Loon Lake on the Mersey River in Queens County, Nova Scotia on May 6, 1956 and was buried in United East Cemetery in Liverpool, Queens county on May 8th. His wife Bessie of Brooklyn, NS was the informant and she said his father Fred Croxen was born in Brooklyn and his mother Pauline was born in Sandy Cove, NS.[3]
