Joseph Crooker was born in Connecticut.

Joseph, the first son and eldest of three children of Joseph Crooker and Submit Adderton was born on 2 July 1752 at Hebron, Connecticut.^[1]

Pvt. Joseph Crooker died on 3 July 1778 in his 26th year during the Battle of Wyoming at Wyoming, Pennsylvania, and is buried in the Battle of Wyoming Burial Ground at Wyoming, Luzerne, Pennsylvania.^[2]His younger brother, Pvt. Samuel Atherton Crooker was also slain during this battle.
