I recently took a DNA test on 23andMe. Added to that is the privilege of an amazing family tree on Ancestry that my mother researched for 6 years to put together. Many lines back to 11th, up to 14th great grandparents, and one even to 17th! I would love to be able to find out more about each of my great grandparents and to fill in any missing names and dates.
I grew up as a missionary kid in SE Asia, and then married another MK in Japan and have lived here since 1991, raising our 13 children here in Japan (10 birth, 3 adopted). Having lived outside of America for so long makes us, in a way, even more curious to know about our heritage :-)
Made in Mexico while parents were there as missionaries.
Born in Los Angeles, California, in the home of veteran missionaries Philip & Helen Stanley.
Lived in Sacramento, California for 6 months.
Had 1st birthday in Honolulu, Hawaii, on the way to Indonesia with parents as missionaries (via Japan where we visited missionary friends and I "met" my husband for the first time, at ages 1 and 8).
Lived in Indonesia from age 1 - 3 1/2. Upon the death of infant sister, Christine Joy Crooke, returned to the US for 6 months. Lived in Indonesia again from ages 4 - 5.
Lived in Little Rock, Arkansas for 1 year.
Lived in Newport News, Virginia for 2 1/2 years
Lived in Kabul, Afghanistan, 3 months Lahore Pakistan 3 months, and India 6 months(traveling back and forth as each country had a 3 month tourist visa limit).
Lived in Kenya, Africa for 3 months.
Lived in Hampton, Virginia for 6 months.
Lived in Kowloon and Saikung, Hong Kong for 2 years.
Lived in Taichung, Taiwan for 3 years.
Lived in Penang, Malaysia for 1 year.
Lived in Sri Racha, Thailand for 1 year.
Spent 3 weeks in Singapore, 6 weeks in Finland during summer.
Lived in Penang, Malaysia for 1 year.
Lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 1 year (summer working at orphanage in Bangkok, Thailand)
Lived in Honolulu and Kailua, Hawaii for 5 years (1 summer working at orphanage and refugee detention center in Bangkok, Thailand).

I am trying to merge the profile for Joseph Marsh, one of my many great grandfathers with your Joseph Marsh Jr.
You have lived in even more places than I have! :)
Now that our Howard Crooke profiles are merged, do you think we can delete the Ann W profile that shows as his wife? Anna O is more correct and complete. Or should we merge them?
I've been researching Stewart and Bailey for both my paternal and maternal lines. While searching I came across your surname Crook which caught my attention as I have a brick wall with Crook in my tree. I ran your Gedmatch number against my families numbers and I'm the only one who matches you on Chromosome 2. I painted our match into DNA Painter and you are lining up with other Stewarts that I've painted. Of course our families have been in America for a long time so we could be related any number of ways. I'll be working on our connection as time permits.

I see you have added a lot of Swedish profiles to WikiTree. However, I can not find any Swedish connection in your family tree and must admit Im a bit confused by that.
If you really would like to work on Swedish profiles, may I suggest that having some knowledge of Swedish geography is a good tool in order to determine the correct source from FamilySearch before adding it to a profile.
Also, it would be preferable to link to the Swedish National Archives, which are free of use, instead of linking to Arkiv Digital which is behind a paywall. Since you in some cases already know what churchbook to look for in AD it should be easy to find it at NAD ( https://sok.riksarkivet.se/ )

Just wanted to let you know that profiles for Norwegian farmers from before the late 1800s should have their patronymic (and only that) in their LNAB, The farm(s) they were associated with are best placed in Current and Other Last name Fields.
Also, a wife would *not* have her husband's patronymic, nor would she use the male form of it; she had her own -datter name that stayed unchanged her entire life. (FamilySearch is sadly extremely lacking in accuracy on that count)
Regarding your private message regarding Barnes-9082 referenced below. Note that much of your research is coming from unsourced FamilySearch trees which are unsourced and therefore unreliable. I recommend looking at records lke the census in Benton, TN. If you show she was born in NC, I can substantiate based her fathers' residence that the county was Wilkes.
Recently you changed birth year for Barnes-9082 with no sources. I would suggest that you look at various Parke Co., Indiana Census's or Benton, TN and you may find one. You updated birth location to reflect NC but gave no source. The Census may reveal that as well. Can you provide a source for birth location and if not, should it not be changed back? If you can show it was NC, her parents were residing in Wilkes County, NC in that year.
Clary-1309 and Clary-653 appear to represent the same person because: same person". The Zachariahs are two different people, They have different parents and different birthdays, etc. Sorry. Russ
Thanks for completing that Shipley merge. It has been hanging too long.
