Biography

Margaritte Creevy was born on 1 May 1823 in Ireland, probably in Castletown-Geoghegan, County Westmeath, the eldest child and daughter of John Creevy and Mary Belle Price.

After her arrival in the United States with her mother and siblings she lived in the Lewiston, County Niagra, New York area where she married local George M Williams.

Margaritte and George would have only one child, a son, Eugene born 21 August 1850/51.

The 1855 New York Census taken on the 28th June 1855 notes George M Williams, 29 yrs, machinist, born Niagra, New York together with wife, Margaritte 30 yrs born Ireland, son Eugene 3 yrs and sister-in-law Mary Ann Creevy, 27 yrs born Ireland living in the town of Royalton in the County of Niagra.

By the 1870 US Census, the family has relocated to the State of Michigan and the census records Margaritte's widowed father, John Creevy living with the family in Frankenmuth, County of Saginaw, Michigan.
