He is listed as Toliver in some family trees or in some cases, Taliferro Toliver Cox.
Toliver Cox was a witness for the will of James Wilson, Sr. of Henry County and Parish of Camden in Virginia, July 21, 1777.
Some of these family trees say Toliver was the son of William Cox (b. 1700, St. Thomas Parish, Orange Co., VA) and Martha Cary (b. ca 1704), also called Lady Martha Cary/Carey.
Some say Toliver Cox married Frances Davis or Davidson.
Many of the family trees list a son, John Toliver Cox (b. 1800; SC)[2]
Other references include a son, Jerome, and a daughter, Sarah (Cox) Cook.
Toliver is listed in the 1790 census of Edgefield County, South Carolina with a number of other Cox heads-of-house.
