Biography

Sou apenas mais um descendente dos Coutinho, originários de Niterói, no Rio de Janeiro. O meu ramo Coutinho descende de Henrique Manoel Coutinho, que viveu na antiga freguesia de Itaipu, na chamada "barra de Piratininga", em Niterói, desde 1798.

Pelo lado materno, descendo dos Barbosa, oriundos do Porto, em Portugal, desde antes de 1851. Os Barbosa vieram do concelho da Maia, região metropolitana do Porto, e dividiram-se em dois grupos:

  • O primeiro permaneceu em Portugal, em Matosinhos, no Grande Porto;
  • O segundo veio para o Brasil, no início do séc. XX, e fixou-se em São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro.

Antes dessas duas famílias se unirem, os Coutinho já haviam se encontrado com os Tavares, aos quais pertence minha avó paterna Rozália Tavares, enquanto os Barbosa ligaram-se aos da Motta, que é a família da minha avó materna Leonor da Motta.

Os descendentes dos Barbosa, no Brasil, foram escassos e os Tavares uniram-se a diversas famílias de Niterói. Já os descendentes dos Coutinho e da Motta foram numerosos, espalhando-se pela regiões dos lagos e metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro.
