Damase Courchesne was born in Saint-François-du-Lac in Lower Canada, on 9 Nov 1825. He was the son of Pierre Courchesne and Catherine Joyal. He married Marguerite Lafond on 7 Jan 1851. Damase passed away at the age of 72 in St-Cyrille de Wendover, Quebec on 15 May 1898.
