Biography
John Cotes of Aston was the son of Robert Cotes.[1][2]
His birth date is not known. He was probably born before 1250 as he was named in a land deed in 1293, and as his son was born before or about 1270.
He had son Robert, who married Alice Knightley.[1][2]
The Visitation lists him as "Joh'es Cotes de Aston ao 21 E. 1" suggesting he was living in Aston in 1293.[1][2]
