Hi Stephanie,

I'm a direct descendant of the Fields family of Letcher County, Kentucky. I've got a pretty extensive tree on Ancestry.com and was able to trace the Fields surname about 30 generations back to Colmar, France.

I've only taken the basic Ancestry DNA test and my tree still has some issues to cleaned up, but I can be of any help please let me know.

Hello Stephanie,

Thank you for adding me to John Corwin's Trusted List! I look forward to seeing how our lines are connected as I see you are following Williams as well!

Many Thanks, Cindy

Hi Stephanie,

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

Hi Stephanie

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 222 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Hello Stephanie,

Welcome to week four!

You may have been hard at work getting connected to family members who are already here and adding those who were missing. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now.

There's a fast and easy way to access those profiles using the Watchlist. So, this week we're going to look at How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Please let one of us know if you have questions! Just click my name above the comment, then ask in the comment section of my page. We want to help!

Stephanie

You've been here for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are coming together and you've enjoyed getting to know us a little better.

You're getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now and collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Questions?? Just ask! If the above link does not work from your email, please go to your profile in the public comments and it will work from there.

Thanks, Cindy

PS-Good work so far! Have you noticed on ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try!

Hello

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Please let me know if you have questions. :-)

Hello Stephanie,

Thanks for filling out your tags!

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is :How to Start Climbing Our Tree

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum

Do you have a French connection?

Welcome
