DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Bob or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Bob:

Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Hey Mr Corriveau I noticed you edited Roland J Pelletier the other day and I was wondering if you had any leads as to his patrilineage.

Thanks!

Hi Riley. All I have is what I listed on Roland's profile. I think I got it from Ancestry.com, so they might have more info.

Thanks for your interest in the Desrosiers lines including New England ... we are apparently 8th cousins several different ways. (All of us of Canadien descent are cousins!) My paternal family are assimilated to the point that Desrosiers dits Lafreniere became Ashley in Maine sometime in the nineteenth century.

Bob

It's time for your next stop on your guided tour. This week, we'd like to introduce you to our community and show you some ways to get more involved and stay up to date on everything that's going on: How to Join in the Community.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on the bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try sometime!

Bob--

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Edit a Profile.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi,

I just wanted to check in with you to see how things were going. If you have any questions or need direction please feel free to contact me. Michelle~WikiTree Mentor

Hi Robert,

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: What do you do to honor the veterans in your family tree?

Welcome!

Susie - Wikitree Greeter :-)

Hi Robert!

Welcome to WikiTree! Be sure to take a look at the link in the email you just got. It has important information to help you get started. :-)

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

Confirm your email address, and you’ll be given an opportunity to fill in the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. If you are interested in sharing your research and want to collaborate to add your family, please fill out the Tags on your profile page and click Save Tag(s) and Volunteer.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

Thanks, Cindy
