Mr.Cornette was a preacher, a farmer, a Blacksmith,a sadler, Carpenter, wheel right, an iron worker, and expert plow and wagon maker. born in Grayson County, Virginia he moved with his family to North Carolina. In early manhood he went to Tennessee where he married, returned to Virginia, In 1850 he moved to Jessamin County, KY, then in 1854 to Logan County, KY. He lived there for twenty years before moving to Muhlenberg County, KY. From 1874 to 1884 Rev.Cornette and his wife occupied the historic Dennis House on the Russellville Road two miles South East of Greenville. after they retired from active work, they made their home with their son Andrew Jackson Cornette or "Uncle Jack" as he was called by his friends. It was in this happy home that the old Lady Cornette and the old preacher spent their last years and died after a long and credible life. They are buried side by side on the "Uncle Jack Farm" Rev.
