Biography

Richard was born about 1750. He passed away in 1805.

Richard married Lucy (some say Lucy Willcockson--unable to find a relationship with this name)

Richard built this Mill 1790


He owned six slaves in 1790. Upon his death, he owned 18 slaves: Sal and his children, Tab, Ben, Hannah, Jack, Ned, Violet, Dill and her children, Nance, Mary, Peggy, Dorcas, Sine and Charles, Dick, Bob, Primus, and Simon.

Richard wrote his Will on the 5 April 1800. Mentioned in his estate are Wife Lucy Cook, nephew John Cook, Richard Jones Cook son of nephew John Cook, sister Lucy Clanton Cook, brother Thomas Cook, and Richard H. King. as executors.

Will[1] and [2] Witnesses were Elihu King and James King and Howell Barker. Richard's Will goes into Probate on 26 Aug 1805 in Iredell, North Carolina,



Land at Rockey Creek the Plantation[3] and [4] Rockey Creek Plantation 340 acres and 503 acres

After Richard passed away Lucy then married Randall Mabry
