Salvatore Coniglio, son of Giorgio Coniglio and Maria Arsena, is born and baptized on 3 May 1856 in Corleone. His godparents are Maestro Domenico and Marianna Patella, brother and sister.[1] He is named after his paternal grandfather.
Salvatore marries Maria, the daughter of unknown parents, known by the surname Ficara, on 25 April 1881 in Corleone.[2]
Salvatore and Maria have at least three children: Luigi (c. 1887), Paolo (c. 1889), and Salvatore (c. 1891).
On the Plata, arriving in the port of New Orleans in 1891, passengers’ last residence and city of birth are not recorded on the manifest. About 39 passengers, listed in series, appear to be from Corleone. A partial list follows:
