Lydia was born in 1820 in New London, Chester County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Quakers Jesse Conard and Ann Pennington.
She married Thomas Gawthorp at a Friends monthly meeting in 1840.[1] They had two children, Jesse[2] and Lydia.[3]
She passed away aged 24 in 1843, a month after giving birth.[4] Her husband remarried her older sister, Susanna.
