Biography

Giuseppa Comaianni is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Carmelo Comaianni and Marianna Saltaformaggio, who married in 1888. She is named after her maternal grandmother.

Giuseppa marries Antonino Governali, son of Francesco Governali and Lucia Pomara, on 21 April 1924.^[1]

Antonio is considered by his supporters and the police to be in direct line of succession to Don Michele Navarra. He disappears 5 April 1957, along with Giovanni Trombattura (Trombatore), age 70 (b. 1892), the consigliere and mediator between the Navarra and Liggio factions, during the Navarra-Liggio war. Their wives receive anonymous letters in the same hand, indicating that the men would not be seen again. La Sorte quotes Governale's wife giving his date of disappearance as 5 April.^[2] The year of the abductions is confirmed in Thom L. Jones' account.^[3]
