The death occurred at an early hour yesterday morning of Mr. Michael Collins, a very highly esteemed resident of Bundaberg. Mr. Collins, who was 68 years of age, had been ill about a week, having suddenly sustained a stroke of paralysis. He was a native of County Cork, Ireland, and came to Queensland when a very young man, having landed in Maryborough 46 years ago. He subsequently, went on to Gympie, that gold-field being then in its boom, and he remained there for a considerable time. Thirteen years ago he made his home in Bundaberg, during which time he followed his occupation as a cooper, and was employed at the Bundaberg Distillery. He is survived by his widow and four sons, and one daughter, all grown up, and to whom much sympathy is extended in their heavy bereavement. The second eldest son, who was attached to the 52nd. Battalion, A.I.F., made the great sacrifice in France In 1917. The funeral takes place this afternoon from his late residence, Woondooma-street, at 3 o'clock, the arrangements being in the hands of Mr. J. Novakoski. Members of the H.A.C.B.
