Biography

Cordelia Collins Jackson Dale was born about 1849, likely in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Lively Elizabeth Collins and an unknown biological father. She was the stepdaughter of Samuel Jackson.

She was the maternal granddaughter of Hiram Collins and Martha “Patsy” Dale. She was the maternal great-granddaughter of Valentine Collins and Dicey Gibson and PVT Charles Dale and Jemima Spradlin.

She was the maternal half-sister of Mary Etta Jackson Ward, Frances Jackson, Matilda Jackson, Hamilton H. Jackson and Samuel K. Jackson.

Cordelia married her first husband Harvey Blanton (son of William Blanton and Esther Alsley Cantrell) on November 8, 1866 in Johnson County, Kentucky. They had three children; Samuel Blanton, Mary J. Blanton and James H. Blanton.

She married her second husband Winfield Roscoe Dale (son of Berry Dale and Chaney Cole) on July 4, 1879 in Johnson County, Kentucky.

Cordelia passed away after June 22, 1880.
