Hiram Price Collier was born at Davenport, Iowa, May 25, 1860.[1] He was the son of Robert Laird and Mary (Price) Collier.[1]

He lived, while a boy, in Switzerland and England.[3]
In early life he was a student at Geneva, Switzerland; also at Leipsic, Germany.[1]
After returning to the United States he entered Harvard Divinity School, and was graduated in the class of 1882 B.D. He became a Unitarian clergyman.[3] On the 29th of Sept. following, he was ordained pastor of the First Parish in Hingham.[1] He retired from the ministry in 1891.[3]
He retired from the ministry in 1891. He is best known for his clever sketches of national character in America and the Americans from the French Point of View (1896); England and the English from an American Point of View (1909); The West in the East from an American Point of View (1911) and Germany and the Germans from an American Point of View (1913). He died on the island of Funen, in the Baltic Sea, Nov. 3 1913.[3]
He married first June 9, 1886, Gertrude Augusta, daughter of Frank 0. and Mary W. Dame of Boston. She was born at Boston, July 20, 1860. [1]
Hiram lived on Cottage Street in Hingham.[1]
He married second in 1893, Katherine Robbins Delano "Kassie" (1860-1953).[4]
He died 3 Nov 1913. Either on the island of Funen, in the Baltic Sea[3] or Tandrup, Vesthimmerland Kommune, Nordjylland, Denmark.[5]
