Ethel was born Toronto in 1908 to immigrant parents: Joseph & Fannie Cohen. Her family moved briefly to the USA before she was a year old, but was back in Ontario beginning about 1911. Her parents returned to New York in the 1920's, and it is unclear if she went with them. Nevertheless, they were all living together in Toronto in 1931. The following year she moved to her own place at 514 Euclid Ave, and the year after that she married Jack Raider, son of Aaron Raider & Annie Zaretsky, on 6 Sep 1932 in Toronto.
They had two children:
Frances (b. abt. 1940; m. B. Zaretsky)
Joan (m. L. Litovitz)
Ethel passed away in 1977.

1932 Toronto application for marriage license for Ethel Cohen (age 24; b. Ontario; spinster) and Jack Raider (age 28). They both listed Hebrew as their religion. Her parents were Joseph Cohen (born in Russia) & Fannie Grebove, and his were Aaron Raider & Annie Zaretsky. They were living at different address in Toronto: Ethel was living at 514 Euclid Ave. She could read and write and was working in sales. The application was filed on 25 Aug 1932 and the marriage was solemnized on 6 Sep 1932. Witness was Samuel Shapiro [6].

She is buried with her husband in Ontario [9]. Her portion of the gravestone is inscribed: "In Loving Memory Of / Ethel Raider / Dearly Beloved Wife / Devoted Mother / And Grandmother / May 9, 1908 - Jan. 13, 1977" [10].
1940 petition for naturalization lists Ethel Cohen (age 32) living at 1690 Vyse Ave in the Bronx, NY [13]. Is this her? I have not found other indications that she had left Canada as an adult, and I would have expected her to be using her married name regardless.
1972 was living in Toronto, Canada, under her maiden name: Mrs Ethel Cohen [14]. Is this her? I would not expect that she would be using her maiden name in 1972 given that she was later buried with her husband, and I have found no indication of divorce.
