John Coe was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)
John Coe is an Anzac who served in World War One.

Corporal John Coe was killed in action during World War I.

John was born in 1894. He is the son of Emily Coe and Thomas Everett. [1]

He married Mary Ivy Rowe on 6 May 1916 at the Baptist Manse, Adelaide. [2]

He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, embarking from Adelaide on HMAT Afric A9 on the 9 Jun 1916. He served with the 52nd Infantry Battalion and was transferred to the 50th Battalion when the 52nd was disbanded to reinforce other units in May 1918. He was killed in action on 30 Jun 1918 and was buried in Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, France. [3] [4]

LATE CORPORAL J. W. COE.
Corporal J. W. Coe was killed in action on June 30. He was born at Beaufort, October 7, 1894, and was 23 years and 9 months of age. He was a crack bushman, a good shot, and a great horseman and was highly respected in the district in which he was brought up. He left a widow and one daughter, whom he had never seen. [5]
