Biography

Edward, son of John Codrington (d by 1485) and _________ daughter of Sir Nicholas Poyntz of Iron Acton,^[1] was born presumably at the Codrington estate, Gloucestershire, by 1470 (presuming a birth of elder brother Christopher earlier than 1467). ^[2]

Edward, through circumstances unknown, became resident of Wiltshire where he is found on a 1511 jury.^[2]

Research Notes

There seems to be some confusion about the identification of the first name of daughter of Sir Nicholas Poyntz who married John Codrington, father of Edward and Christopher.

It may be read that Sir John Maclean died before completing a pedigree of the Codrington family.
