Biography

Goldie was born in 1912 to Orlando Samuel Coats and his second wife, Grace Mabel Jeffrey.

Goldie had 2 brothers, Donald, her half brother, who died in infancy and Donald Jeffrey, her baby brother.

She had several sisters. She had two half sisters, Myrtle May and Lena. Myrtle Mae died at age 5 after a long illness.

Her other sisters that shared the same mother were Ada, Edna, and Eva.

Goldie married Robert Clawson on March 8, 1934. She had her first child, Ronald Eugene in 1934 and a second son, Thomas Stephan in 1940.

She and Robert got a divorce in October, 1952 and remarried after being divorced for only three months. They remarried on January 23, 1953. Their son, Ron was the best man.

She passed away on December 29, 1992 in El Cajon, San Diego County, California. She is buried in the Brighton cemetery in Brighton, OH.
