Esther Cleveland was the second daughter of Stephen Cleveland and Frances Folsom.[1]. She was born in 1893 and was the only child of a president to be born in the White House. Esther had her share of childhood diseases, measles in 1896 and diphtheria in 1901.
Esther married William Sidney Bence Bosanquet on March 14, 1918, at Westminster Abbey. He was the son of Sir Frederick Albert Bosanquet. William was a Captain in the Coldstream Guards of the British Army. She and William had two children together: Philippa Foot, the British philosopher and Marion Bosanquet.
Esther died in 1980, at the age of 86, in Tamworth, New Hampshire, fourteen years after her husband. She is buried at Fowlers Mill Cemetery , Tamworth, Carroll County, New Hampshire, USA[2]
