Dr. Jacob Harris Clawson was born in 4 April 1792 in Virginia, the son of John and Massey (Harris) Clawson. He passed away on 28 Feb 1850 at the age of 57. in Ebenezer, York County, South Carolina. He is buried in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rock Hill, York County, South Carolina.
He married Mary Ann Thomasson, the daughter of William Pollard Thomasson in Grandville, N.C. His brother, Willliam Harris Clawson was in practice with Jacob in South Carolina.
