Biography

Garret was born in Indiana in 1842. Son of Josiah D Clawson and Sarah Ann Erwin. Garrett enrolled August 13, 1862 at Attica, IN into the 86th Indiana Infantry and was mustered in Sept. 4, 1862 at Indianapolis, IN. He fought in the Battle of Stone's River, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, December 1862. He died May 5, 1863 of measles. Garrett is listed in the US Quartermaster's Roll of Honor.
