David Clark was born & grew up in eastern Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska, Naropa Institute and the University of Colorado. In 1979 he married Toria Hanshew and moved to Boulder, Colorado. In 1989 they moved to Erie, Colorado. David worked as a teacher for the Boulder Valley School District. They had four children, Jesse, Caleb, Heidi & Noah.
