Private David Church was Wounded in Action during World War I.
David Charles Church in 1895 in Calgary, Alberta. He was the son of a farmer and became a rancher.
In October, 1916, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces and first joined the 191st Battalion then, upon deployment to France, the 50th Battalion.
He suffered a severe wound to the jaw on October 22d, 1917 in Ypres and was treated in different hospitals until his discharge from the force on November 6th, 1920.
He became a farmer in his own ranch in Balzac from 1921, where he lived until his death in 1971.
He married Mary Elizabeth Rae in 1926, they had three sons.
