Biography

Marie Choquet was born and baptized on 30 Aug 1769 in St-Ours^[1] (note: other children are baptized in St-Denis-sur-Richelieu, which is not that distant from St-Ours, the priest in St-Denis might have been absent)

Marie Choquet married Joseph Neveu, son of Joseph Neveu and Victoire Janotte, on 27 Jul 1801 in Pointe-Olivier (St-Mathias)^[2] (she was listed as around 26 years old and he was listed as around 22)

5 known children, 2 died young and 3 married.^[3]

Marie Choquette died on 16 Feb 1843, funeral on the 18th in Mont-St-Grégoire (St-Grégoire-le-Grand) ^[4], being listed as 78 year old wife of Joseph Neveux (Mont-St-Grégoire is in Richelieu valley near St-Jean-sur-Richelieu)

Research Note

according to The Choquet-Choquette of North America Family Tree, she had a child, Pierre Choquet (3 Dec 1798-14 May 1877), out of wedlock with Joseph Neveu before marrying Neveu at St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu on 27 Jul 1801,--- Research finds a boy Pierre born 3 Dec 1798 baptized 4 Dec 1798 in Pointe-Olivier (St-Mathias), he is listed as of unknown father, son of Marie Choquet. The godfather was François Choquet, brother of the mother, godmother Marie Suzanne Benoit, friend of the mother.^[5]
