Theodore Chiasson was born on July 8, 1840 in Lafourche, Louisiana, United States, son of Pierre Eugene Chiasson (1818–1895) and Sophie Use (1808– ).^[1]

In 1860, Theodore (19) was living in St with his father Eugene (43), mother, Sophie (45); and brothers Ulysse Chiasson (16), and Evariste Chiasson (14). ^[2]

Theodore was in a military record in 1861 in Louisiana.^[3]

Theodore married Anastasie Severine Adam daughter of Jacques Ignace Adam and Julie Artemise Navarre, on 5 May 1866 in St. James, Louisiana, United States.^[4]Their children were:
