Le 5 septembre 1678 à Pointe-aux-Trembles de Montréal, Jeanne Vilain, veuve de Mathurin Bernier dit la Marzelle, vivant habitant de la côte St-Sulpice de la paroisse, se remaria avec Jacques Chevalier résidant à Lachenaie, fils de Guillaume Chevalier et de Roline Aubert, de la paroisse d'Hégremonville, archevêché de Rouen, en présence de Pierre Jousse, Jean Fontenau dit St-Jean, Léonard Étier, André Sire, Louise Sommillar femme de François Fortin dit Plermel, Françoise Latier femme de Jean Levert, et autres communs amis et amies, presque tous ayant déclaré ne savoir signer, le prêtre célébrant François Séguenot signe, Jeanne signe avec lui Zanne Villen[2][3]

Note: Jacques Levert qui épouse sa fille Marie Anne était son filleul le 28 décembre 1675 à Pointe-aux-Trembles de Montréal.[5]

Jeanne Vilain décède à l'Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal en 1711.[5]
Décès
Jacques Chevalier décède le 30 avril 1723 et est inhumé le 1er mai à St-François-de-Sales sur l'île Jésus, l'acte lui donne 88 ans. Jacques Levert son gendre est cité présent[9]
Jacques Chevalier was born to parents Guillaume Chevalier and Roline Aubert around 1640 in Gremonville, archdiocese of Rouen, in Normandie (ar. Rouen, Seine-Maritime)[10][1]

Marriage
On 5 September 1678 in Pointe-aux-Trembles de Montréal, Jeanne Vilain, widow of Mathurin Bernier dit la Marzelle, in life inhabitant of the St-Sulpice coast of this parish, remarried with Jacques Chevalier residing in Lachenaie, son of Guillaume Chevalier and of Roline Aubert, of the parish of Hégremonville, archdiocese of Rouen, in the presence of Pierre Jousse, Jean Fontenau dit St-Jean, Léonard Étier, André Sire, Louise Sommillar wife of François Fortin dit Plermel, Françoise Latier wife of Jean Levert, and other common friends, most declaring they could not sign, the priest officiating François Séguenot signed, Jeanne signed with him Zanne Villen[2][3]
12 children to the couple, (listed above) 3 only marrying, 6 died as infants, and 3 sons lived to adulhood but remained single as far as is known. One of them, Robert, achieved some fame.[11][12]
Note: Jacques Levert who married his daughter Marie Anne was his godson on 28 December 1675 in Pointe-aux-Trembles de Montréal.[5]
On 28 January 1680 before notary Claude Maugue, an obligation was incurred by Jacques Chevalier resident of Rivière des Prairies and Jeanne Vilain his wife, towards Pierre Perrotin farmer in the seigneurie of Lachenaie, for the sum of 253 livres for merchandises sold and delivered.[7]
On the same day before the same notary, Jacques Chevallier, resident of Montréal, sold a residence in the seigneurie of Lachenaie, to Charles Roger commander on île Jésus.[7]

On 13 May 1696 before notary Bénigne Basset Jacques incurred an obligation toward Mrs les Seigneurs de Montréal.[7]
Jeanne Vilain died in Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal hospital in 1711.[5]
Death
Jacques Chevalier died on 30 April 1723 and was buried on 1 May in St-François-de-Sales on île Jésus, the act giving him 88 years of age. Jacques Levert his son-in-law was cited present[9]

"Most experts seem to believe R1b DF19 originated in Denmark and is probably from the Dane Vikings invading into Normandy, France, then the British Isles," and "Viking raiders and settlers brought the DF19 mutation to Ireland, Scotland, England and Normandy." So the male Chevalier line is definitely Norman in origin. The Chevalier surname was probably added a few generations later.

Daughter Jeanne Marguerite can't be his because she was born just a few years after he was. The children of Jacques and Jeanne Vilenne were born between 1679 and 1698. I think we should disconnect the current daughter.
