Cletus Theodore Cheney was born in Pope County, Illinois on 24 Dec 1874.[1] He lived and worked on his parents farm until his marriage to Mamie Keef on 3 Jan 1897.[2]
They took up residence in Metropolis City, Massac, Illinois, where he was a day laborer.[3]
In the interveneing years, they moved to a farm in Watensaw, Prairie, Arkansas.[4]
Some time after 1910, Theodore divorced her as reported by her in the 1920 Census.[5] In 1917 he married Lucy Chloe Emmons and they took up residence in Hazen,[6]
He registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sep 1918.[7] He was living and working on a farm, but by 1920 he had moved to a house in town and working in a meat and graocery store.[8]
By 1930 he and Lucy had moved to Gurdon, Arkansas where he was working as a manager of a general store.[9]
At the age of 60, Cletus passed away[10] and was buried at the De Ann Cemetery in Nevada County, Arkansas.[11]
