Emile was born in 1898. He was the son of Pierre Optime Chauvin and Marine Dubourg. He passed away in 1978 and was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in St. James Parish, Louisiana.
He was married to Lucille Mary Bergeron (1917-1989). Their children inlcuded:
