The death date may be for a different J B Chauvin. Based on research in Kaskaskia Manuscripts, it appears the J B Charlesvile who died in 1782 was the husband of Francoise Brazeaux. In the searchable manuscripts 919 of 1375, is a list of their minor children. They married in 1769 and that entry does not mention he was the widow of Agnes Lacroix and the parents are different - Joseph Chauvin and Genevieve Rivard.
