Edward (aka Seymour or Seymore in some records) was born in the mid 1880s or early 1890s (see research notes) in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was a son of Edward Chase and Melissa Chase.[1][2]
His father passed away when he was young.
He married Emma/Emily Landry prir to 1916. They had one son and lived in West Bathurst.
Edward enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force at Sussex on December 30, 1915. On his application , he indicated he had previously done camp training with the 71st Regiment of the New Brunswick Militia. He also listed his date of birth as June 15, 1894. He was assigned to the 36th Battalion CEF. He also served with the 26th Reserve Battalin and the 140th Battalion in England and France.He was discharged from the army on October 26, 1919 and settled back in Fredericton.[2]
He married Minne Gertrude Gibson prior to 1919.
They lived at Fredericton where Edward was a labourer and/or a butcher.[1][2]
Circa 1935, they moved to Saint John where they lived at 141 Britain Street.[1]
Edward passed away on May 5, 1942 of complications from Diabetes at the age of 57. He was interred at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Saint John.[1][3]
