In 1915 the family of 10 children lived in Tiverton, Newport, Rhode Island [1]
In 1920 the family of 12 children lived in Fall River, Mass.. Her father was a carder in a mill, [2]
In 1930 she and husband lived in Brooklyn. He was a hatter in a hat factory. [3]
After the birth of their first child, they moved to Norwalk, Connecticut. He worked at the Hat Corporation of America, where he attained the position of foreman. In Norwalk, they had three more children. Irene's younger brother Elmer also lived with them in Norwalk for a while.
