James was born Dec 1842.[1][2][3] He was the son of Robert Chandler and Elizabeth Dickson.

He passed away on 15 Jul 1906 (aged 63) in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, USA, and was buried in Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington, USA.[4]
