Note-1: Variations of "Chamberlin" or "Chamberlain" or "Chamberlayne" have been found, depending on the source. (Chamberlain spelling in Gilbert Cope-Genealogy of the Sharpless family 1887)

Note-2: Birth date of 1650-1652 estimated; considering year of emigration pre-1685; and the year of 1686 in which after marrying Mary_____; he settled in Concord and purchased 100 acres of land; and the year his first child was born of 1691 (Side-Note: Family data collection for Robert Chamberlin,[1] report his birth in 1652 Berkshire England

Biography

Robert Chamberlin or Chamberlain, son of Robert Chamberlayne needs citation and Elizabeth Stroud, [2]believed to be from Wiltshire England; born approx. 1650-1652[3].

Before the year 1685, from Wiltshire England; Robert emigrated with his mother Elizabeth, and his 3 sisters (born from Elizabeth's first husband) (Elizabeth; Sarah; Jean); and his step-father Francis Hickman (died that same year)[2]

Robert married Mary Sharpless probably around 1685[4]; and settled in Concord, where he purchased 100 acres of land 9mth 27 1686[2]

In 1715, Robert Chamberlin and his son Robert Chamberlin, Junior; appear as taxables in the assessment list for Concord[5]

He died approx. 1732, in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Robert's will was dated March 26, 1730; and proved April 12, 1732, Birmingham Township; Chester Co., Pennsylvania[2]

Concord, yeoman. Provides for wife Mary including plantation containing 93 acres in Concord during widowhood afterward to son Joseph he paying legacies as follows. To sons John and Robert and daughter Susanna wife of John Pyle 5 lb each; also to grandson Jacob son of Robert Chamberlin 5 lb; also to said grandson 20 acres of land being the remainder of my tract over and above the 93 acres during life afterward to son Joseph. To son in law Daniel Pyle 1 shilling. To kinswoman Eliza Moore 20 shillings. Remainder in 5 equal shares to sons, John, Robert, daughter Susanna, son Joseph and the 2 daughters of son in law Danl. Pyle, viz Susanna and Mary. Executors: wife Mary, Henry Osbourn and John Taylor to be assistants.citation needed

Chamberlin-109 and Chamberlain-919 are most likely the same person but there is discrepancy in birth year and mothers maiden name. Needs further review.
