"Thomas Chadwick, third child and eldest son of Thomas Chadwick by his wife Sarah Wolcott, was born at Watertown in September 1677.[1] Lyme Deeds record a deed of gift of all his estate made by Thomas Chadwick Sr. to "my loving son Thomas Chadwick, late of Sopus [Kingston] in the Province of New York, now of Lyme under date of 26 May 1712, which deed was revoked on 17 Oct. of the same year. No record of his marriage has been found and the birth of only one child, Jerusba, daughter of Thomas Chadwick, Jr., appears in the Lyme Vital Records.
"Thomas married, probably about 1700, Mary Boos, as the name was recorded in 1717 by the clerk of the Poughkeepsie Dutch Church, when Thomas is recorded as Thomas Zeddewyck. She may have been Bowes, Boyce, or Buss, if of New England, or Bois, DuBois, Bos, Busch, etc., if she was Dutch. She may even have been a second wife, but at the baptism on 11 Jan. [or June?] 1717, of Thammes, Willem, Jerusba, and Elizabeth Zeddewyk, she is definitely given as the mother. The father was taxed for land in Middle Ward of Dutchess County, Poughkeepsie District, as Thomas Shadwick, in 1718 and 1720. On this family we are much indebted to Mr. Glenn G. Tucker, of Warren, Ohio."[2]
September 1677 Thomas Chadwick (Zeddewyck; Chaddock) son of Thomas Chadwick and Sarah Wolcott/Woolcott is born in Watertown, Massachusetts[3] Arthur Kelly transcribes the name from the Poughkeepsie Baptism records as Tham. t'Zaddewyk.[4]
about 1700 married Merry Boos (Boos, Bos?, Bosch?, Boys?), parents unknown[3]
"Thomas Shadwick was taxed for land in Middle Ward of Dutchess Co., Poughkeepsie District in 1718 and 1720."[3]
"Matheus Slegt, Thammes Seddewyck, and Antgen Slegt, witnessed the baptism 8 Feb 1730 Kingston Ref Ch, of Johannes, son of Jury Rooenpeg (Rogbach, Roerbach?) & Tobyta Seddewiek (Tabitha Chadwick?)"[3]
