(The Galveston Daily News August 18, 1961 page 1) E.D. Cavin Jr. Said Suicide Rites Today Funeral services for Ernest Dillard Cavin Jr., 67, member of a prominent pioneer Galveston family, who was found fatally shot in his office Wednesday night, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Edmund H. Gibson, rector, will officiate and burial will be in Galveston Memorial Park, under direction of J. Levy and Bro. funeral home. Mr. Cavin was President of the Pearl Beer Distribution Co., of Galveston, which he established here.
