Biography

Henry was born in 1850. He married Aseneth Martin and they had seven children. He passed away in 1927.

Research Notes

He married Aseneth E Martin in 1876. But there are two women by that name, born same year, lived in same region of Illinois, but both show up in the 1880 census with different husbands.

Aseneth E Martin married Henry Clay Causey in 13 Jul 1876, Tazewell, Illinois. In the 1880 census they live in Peoria, Illinois, her father is of VA and mother of IL. She uses the name Sena. After having seven children in ten years, there are no more children and no records of her associated with them (other than her name in their marriage records). The rest of the records for Henry and children he is a widow (1900 census onward).

Asenith Elizabeth Martin married James M Kennedy, 25 Jan 1877, Mcdonough, Illinois. In the 1880 census, Griggsville, Pike, Illinois, she is Acena Kennedy, 22, wife of James, 28, father of IL, mother of PA. This fits the parents of the Aseneth who married Benjamin Tryon, based on her death certificate. The wife of Benjamin also indicates she has never had children in the 1900 census. None of the Causey children show up in any records for Benjamin. My conclusion is that the Aseneth Martin who married Benjamin Tryon was the one who was married to James Kennedy and the one who married Henry Causey died shortly after 1888.
